The song is not done. The deadline is not moving. And Amaal Mallik says he has no option but to keep going, health or no health.
On June 26, Amaal Mallik posted a message on X addressed to his fans, whom he calls Amaalians. He said he is currently dealing with health issues caused by overexertion and sleepless nights. Despite that, he said the pressure of an upcoming release means he cannot slow down.
“I have no other option but to work round the clock and add my final touches before it releases,” he wrote. He described a long mixing and mastering process that he said cannot be skipped or shortened. He called the upcoming track his most exciting work yet and said it needs to be “pure and perfect.”
Mallik ended the post by saying goodbye to social media for a few days or weeks, until he returns with the track, tagged as AM141, written by lyricist Rashmi Virag and associated with Vishesh Films.

The song: AM141
AM141 is Amaal’s upcoming independent single. No release date has been out yet. The track is being produced under Vishesh Films, the production house founded by Mahesh Bhatt and known for launching some of Bollywood’s most remembered soundtracks.
Rashmi Virag, who has written the lyrics, has previously collaborated with Amaal on songs including Bol Do Na Zara from the 2016 film Azhar. The two have worked together across both film and independent music projects.
His history with health
This is not the first time Amaal has spoken publicly about his health. During the premiere episode of Bigg Boss 19 in August 2025, Amaal revealed on stage that he suffers from sleep apnea and clinical depression. He entered the Bigg Boss house carrying a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine, commonly known as a CPAP device, to help him breathe during sleep.
In a conversation with fellow contestant Gaurav Khanna inside the Bigg Boss house, Amaal explained that he stops breathing for 15 to 20 seconds in his sleep, a symptom of sleep apnea. He said the CPAP device keeps his airways open and ensures uninterrupted breathing through the night.
His June 26 post does not specify the nature of his current health issues, but references sleepless nights directly, which aligns with his known condition.
