Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who featured in a small role in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai MBBS, reacted to the filmmaker’s statement that he made about Siddiqui’s current stardom.

The Manto actor says he never expected Rajkumar Hirani to become so “great” all over the world.

Earlier, during an interactive session titled ‘Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) Masterclass’, Hirani recalled the early days of Nawazuddin’s journey as an actor. “He acted really well and I told him ‘Nawaz, you are a very good actor’. But in my head, I never thought that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would become such a huge actor that he is today,” the filmmaker had said.

“I read the statement which he made about me in the newspaper. I did a very small role in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ which was directed by Rajkumar Hirani. He used to be a shy person when I worked with him,” Nawazuddin said in reaction to that.

In Munna Bhai MBBS, Nawazuddin was featured in a minor role of a thief who pickpockets Sunil Dutt’s character on a railway station and faces the wrath of public on being caught.
