Fans of rib-tickling comedy are in for a possible treat! Nearly 20 years after the first ‘Bhagam Bhag’ became a cult hit, whispers are floating that the sequel is finally on its way, and the casting news has already got Bollywood buzzing. According to reports, the suave Akshaye Khanna might join none other than superstar Akshay Kumar in this comedy extravaganza.
The duo, who last shared screen space in ‘Tees Maar Khan’ (2010), could be reuniting for what might be a laugh-packed rollercoaster.
Adding to the mix is the fresh face Meenakshi Chaudhary, reportedly signed as the female lead.
Akshaye Khanna’s hot streak
Khanna has been grabbing attention lately for his intense roles. Earlier this year, he played the formidable Aurangzeb in ‘Chhaava’, and recently he stepped into the shoes of gangster Rehman Dakait in the spy action thriller ‘Dhurandhar Part 1’.
Seeing him swap dark and gritty roles for a comic caper with Akshay is already getting fans excited.
Behind the scenes
The sequel is said to be helmed by Raaj Shandilya, the director of ‘Dream Girl’. The film is currently in pre-production and reports suggest shooting could begin as early as February next year. If things go as planned, fans can expect theatrical release by the end of 2026.
