Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has injured himself while shooting for a high-octane action sequence for his upcoming film Kesari.
Fondly known as Khiladi Kumar for his breath-taking action stunts, which he performs on his own, was shooting for an important action sequence and while performing a stunt, the actor apparently injured his ribs.
According to a report in HT, the actor suffered an injury to the ribs on Wednesday, when he was shooting for the climax scene of the film in Wai.
Reportedly, Akshay was advised to take rest and even a chopper was arranged to fly him back home so that the actor can recuperate.
However, despite the injury and several suggestions from the crew of the film, Akshay decided to continue with the shoot and work according to the schedule of the film.
Earlier, the climax scene was scheduled to be wrapped up by Thursday (April 19) but due to the sudden turn of events, the fate of the schedule is unknown.
Kesari is based on the battle of Sargarhi and will feature Akshay in the lead role as Havildar Ishwar Singh, who led the 21 Sikhs in the fight.
The film, also starring Parineeti Chopra as the female lead, will be an action adventure film and will showcase Akshay in several power-packed action sequences, which will be choreographed by Oscar winner Lawrence Woodward.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari will release worldwide on 22 March 2019.
