The past week was an anxious one for Bollywood star Disha Patani’s family. Gunshots fired outside her father’s home in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, shook the quiet neighborhood. Now, with swift police action leading to the encounter of the accused, relief and gratitude are beginning to replace fear.

Disha’s father, Jagdish Patani, a retired police officer, spoke out after the dramatic turn of events. His words were filled with thanks for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“No matter how much I praise the Chief Minister, it won’t be enough,” he said. “Today is proof of the fear-free society he promised for the people of this state.”

The incident took place in the early hours of September 12, when unknown attackers opened fire outside the Patani residence. The brazen assault sent shockwaves through the locality and raised serious concerns about security.

Soon after, two names emerged: Ravindra, also known as Kullu, and Arun. Both men were linked to dreaded gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara. These names are already notorious in the world of organized crime.

As panic spread, Chief Minister Adityanath personally assured Jagdish Patani that strict action would follow. Just days later, in a joint operation carried out by the Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), both accused were cornered in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City area. The encounter left them critically injured, and they later died.

“Such incidents happen, but action was taken immediately. I am fully satisfied with the security arrangements and with how the officials have supported me,” he shared.

The Uttar Pradesh police leadership also emphasized that this was more than just a single case. ADG Law and Order, Amitabh Yash, said, “Crimes like these not only disturb law and order but also attempt to spread fear among people. This was treated as a direct challenge to our zero-tolerance policy against crime.”

The shooting was especially alarming because of the gangsters’ public claim of responsibility on social media. Both Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar, operating from outside the state, tried to project power and intimidate.

In Bareilly, senior officials including SSP Anurag Arya assured the Patani family that they would remain under protection.
