Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s production house is all ready to tickle our funny bones and thrill our senses with its upcoming “hatke” spy comedy “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos”. The film marks comedian-turned-director Vir Das’ first time in the director’s chair and is ready to hit theatres on January 16, 2026.
The makers gave fans a glimpse of the film through a hilarious announcement video released on Wednesday. The clip stars Aamir Khan and Vir Das in a funny back-and-forth teasing what audiences can expect.
The video was captioned: “From ‘Kya BANAYA’ to ‘KYA BANAYA’, get ready for a wild ride of comedy, action, romance, and some spy stuff as well.”
In the video, Aamir Khan humorously grills Vir Das about the nature of his film. “This is a film? You said it’s an action, spy, thriller. Where’s the action?” he asks. Vir tries to defend it: “Sir, there is action… there is beating in the film.”

Aamir’s reply is classic: “The whole film in which you are getting beaten up, that is action? Yes.”
The comedy continues as Aamir questions the romance in the film. Vir says there’s a “whole love track,” but Aamir, unimpressed, responds: “The one where you get slapped when you meet her, that is romance? That is romance?”
Things get even funnier when Aamir says he wanted an item number, and Vir ends up playing the “item girl.”
At one point, Aamir jokingly calls the film a “flop” and Vir cheekily reminds him about his own film, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, leading to a playful fight between the two. Just when it seems the banter won’t stop, the rest of the film’s team enters to praise Vir’s creation.
Hearing the compliments, Aamir immediately changes his tune, saying: “I told him to make a great film. Not a normal film, but a great one. What a great film this is.”
Apart from Vir Das, the movie also stars Mona Singh. Fans can mark their calendars for January 16, 2026.
