The Delhi government has taken a special step to honour bravery on the big screen. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that Farhan Akhtar’s latest film, ‘120 Bahadur’, will be tax-free in the capital starting November 28.
The announcement comes just a week after the film’s release on November 21, and it celebrates the courage of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company, Kumaon Regiment who fought heroically at Rezang La during the 1962 India-China War.

In a social media post, Gupta described the film as “a tribute to the extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company of the 13th Kumaon Regiment.” She added that making the film tax-free is a way to honor their bravery and ensure more people can witness this extraordinary chapter in Indian history.
Farhan Akhtar expresses gratitude
Farhan Akhtar, who also co-produced the film with Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment, took to Instagram to thank the Delhi CM.
About ‘120 Bahadur’
Directed by Rajneesh “Reji” Ghai, ‘120 Bahadur’ stars Farhan Akhtar as the heroic Major Shaitan Singh Bhati. Raashii Khanna plays his supportive wife, Shagun Kanwar. The film tells the story of a remarkable stand during the 1962 war when 120 Indian soldiers faced over 3,000 Chinese troops at Rezang La.
The Battle of Rezang La is not widely known outside military circles. That is why, the film brings this tale of courage to a larger audience. Farhan Akhtar during the film’s screening at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Goa expressed hope that the government would make it tax-free allowing the story of Shaitan Singh and his men to reach as many people as possible.
