Breaking all the records at the box office, Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju entered the Rs 100-crore club on Day 3. The Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju has done overwhelmingly well in its opening weekend earning over Rs 120 crore.

The most awaited film of the year emerged the number one commercial hit of 2018, leaving behind all other hits. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Sanju has earned Rs 120.06 crore so far.

His Twitter post read: “#Sanju sets the BO on … Gets #JaaduKiJhappi from the audience… Collects ₹ 46.71 cr on Sun, MIND-BOGGLING… Has an EXCEPTIONAL ₹ cr+ opening weekend… Emerges HIGHEST OPENING WEEKEND of 2018… Fri 34.75 cr, Sat 38.60 cr, Sun 46.71 cr. Total: ₹ 120.06 cr. India biz.”

As the film opened to packed cinema halls across India, online movie ticketing platform BookMyShow sold over 2.5 million tickets and contributing to over 40-crore revenue earned by the film, constitution 33% of the film’s net box-office collections in the opening weekend in India.

According to BookMyShow, major contributions came in from cities such as Mumbai, NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Lucknow. With performances by all the actors getting rave reviews and resultant strong word of mouth publicity, BookMyShow expects the film to have another strong week at the box office.
