The nomination process for the five Lok Sabha seats from Uttarakhand will start from Monday. Uttarakhand’s Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya interacted with returning officers of five parliamentary seats via video conferencing on Sunday to review the preparation work.

The nomination process will start on March 18 and conclude on March 25. Candidates can file nominations from 11 am to 3 pm on every working day. A candidate can fill up to four nomination papers. It is mandatory for every candidate to open their own separate bank account.

Both BJP and Congress are yet to declare their list of party candidates, contesting on their symbols from the five Lok Sabha seats from Uttarakhand. Most of the ticket hopefuls are presently camping in Delhi. Intense debate is going on social media about the most suitable candidate for each seat.

Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya said, “Videography of the entire nomination process will be conducted. Special instruction has been passed to position the clock at an appropriate place so that the date and time are also visible.”
