Urmila Matondkar, the Congress candidate from Mumbai North parliamentary seat, on Thursday, alleged that there was a mismatch in signatures on an electronic voting machine (EVM) form.
Urmila Matondkar has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC).
“On the form of EVM 17C from Magathane, the signatures and the machine numbers are different. A complaint has been filed with the EC,” tweeted Matondkar.

Urmila Matondkar’s closest rival is the sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gopal Shetty. Till 12 pm, Shetty had polled around 2, 01,767 votes while Matondkar was trailing with 69,370 votes.
Gopal Shetty had termed the election against Matondkar as a fight between a film-star and a road-star. He also said that the BJP and Shiv Sena would bag all the six seats in Mumbai.
Mumbai North is considered a BJP stronghold. In 2014, Gopal Shetty had defeated Sanjay Nirupam of Congress.
Urmila Matondkar had joined Congress on March 27 this year and was named as Congress candidate for the Mumbai North Lok Sabha constituency on March 29.
“I am taking my first step in active politics. I am from a family that has shaped my political views based on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel. I had social awareness right from childhood,” she had said.
