Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Haryana, Rajeev Ranjan on Friday, said that the Election Commission (EC) has launched Vote Assistant App on the pattern of Google Assistant for the facility of the voters of the state. The voters will get all information related to voting on this app.

Ranjan said that this facility is being provided to motivate the maximum number of voters in the state to exercise their franchise in the General Elections to Lok Sabha on 12 May 2019.

With the help of this app, the voter would get information related to their polling booth, name in the voter list, part number, voter serial number and information related to candidates.

Besides this, the voters would also get information on this app about people queued up for voting at the polling booth so that the voters can vote as per their convenience. This mobile app would repeatedly remind the voter to vote and after voting the reminder would automatically stop.

He said that anyone can download this app on Android phones from Google Play store. On this app, candidates’ affidavit would be available along with other documents in which information about candidates’ criminal and other records would be available.

By analysing these documents, voters would be able to exercise their franchise. Apart from this, the app would also provide information to voters about location and route to reach their polling station.

Ranjan appealed to the voters to exercise their franchise on May 12 between 7 am and 6 pm as they would get this opportunity after five years. He said that India is the largest democracy in the world therefore, everyone should exercise their franchise to further strengthen it.
