A historic ground-breaking ceremony was held for the establishment of Tathagat Global Gurukulam in remote tribal village of Bheja Jangli in Gurur block of Balod district in Chhattisgarh. The school will offer free, high-quality education to tribal and rural children.
The event saw the presence of NP Singh, Chairman of the Indian Education Board and retired IAS officer, and GR Rana, former Chairman of the Scheduled Tribes Commission. Hundreds of tribal villagers participated in the ceremony organised jointly by Jakwar Foundation and Tathagat Trust for tribal development.
Before the ground-breaking, rituals took place to honour Raja Rao Baba and Kankaleen Mata, and attendees offered garlands to the portrait of freedom fighter Veer Narayan Singh.
Addressing the gathering, NP Singh said the Gurukulam aims to provide quality education to tribal and rural children, helping secure their future. He emphasised that India’s dream of progress cannot be complete unless children in remote areas get education similar to that in cities.
