With a few weeks left before Durga Puja, the shopping spree in Kolkata is in full swing. The revelers have swarmed up the shopping hubs of the city for last-minute purchases.

From western wear to ethnic, accessories to cosmetics, shopping is an integral part of pre-Durga Puja preparations. With festivities lined up, Kolkatans are rushing to shops and many are depending on digital shopping platforms. One of the central shopping hubs of the city New Market is buzzing with shoppers even on busy weekdays.

From trendy jeans, trousers to an enormous slate of tops, and kurtas there are so many options to choose from. The teenagers are opting for wide-cut, skinny, and flared jeans varieties to pair up with crop tops and tank tops. The shop owners are offering surprising discounts not only on attires but also on jewelry and accessories. You can take a stroll through the chain of stalls lined up along the entire stretch of the road. Funky jewelry, oxidized pieces, meenakari jhumkas, chokers, bracelets, there’s a perfect match to any and every outfit. The footfall is always high here.

Talking about another popular shopping center, Gariahat is also witnessing a similar picture. Roadside stalls are swarmed with a flock of buyers and Saree stores are having steady footfalls. Durga Puja and saree share an inseparable bond. Dropping a saree for Ashtami’s Anjali is an old tradition of Durga Puja. Jamdani, Kanjivaram, Moslin, Organza, and Silk, women love to flaunt different sarees in different ways on festive days. Gariahat being the go-to place for saree lovers, you can get all the trending varieties under one roof.

The shopping malls are also offering huge discounts on purchases. South City Mall, and Acropolis Mall are recording great crowds for the past weeks and sells are picking up every day as per an employee source.

Not just buying stuff, pre-Durga Puja shopping also includes gastronomic delight as you relish dishes at your favorite food joints post-shopping. So the eateries of the city are also buzzing with crowds.

With festivities around the corner, Kolkata is all geared up for its biggest festival Durga Puja.
