Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti campaigns at DU; affirms solidarity with Kejriwal
Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to the excise policy case.
International Yoga day was celebrated in Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University with fervour as teachers, staff and students joined in.
At DU, Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi performed yoga with other officials at Gandhi Bhavan. A painting competition was also organised by the School of Open Learning (SOL). At JNU yoga day was celebrated at the convention centre in which students and faculty participated.
“India is all set to steer humanity to spiritual heights. A noble beginning with Yoga,” tweeted Saurabh Sharma, ABVP student leader, JNU.
The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ and is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices. Yoga is practiced in various forms around the world and is gaining popularity. Recognising its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga.

Ramjas College, the third oldest college of DU, celebrated Yoga Day in its campus, emphasising that Yoga is not a religion but promotes balanced development of physical, mental and spiritual aspects of an individual. This was followed by demonstration of Yoga asanas including Pranayam, meditation, etc. The participants were given T-shirts with the logo of International Yoga Day that signifies the motto of ‘Peace and Harmony’ among all.
