The Northern Railway said on Friday that work for the redevelopment of the second entry at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station from the Sarai Kale Khan side has commenced.
The scope of work includes the construction of a new staircase, escalator, lift, the booking office, provision of toilet facilities and extension of the deck slab of FOB-2.
The connection of the Namo Bharat FOB with the Railway FOB along with provision of a temporary booking office has already been completed and opened for the public in May 2026.
“For execution of these works, the existing entry/exit at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway Station on the Sarai Kale Khan side is required to be closed temporarily. The staircase work will be executed for which the area in front of the existing entry/exit is required to be made available,” Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northern Railway, said.
For passenger safety and for smooth execution of the work, the existing entry/exit to the railway station on Sarai Kale Khan has been closed with immediate effect.
During the execution period, passengers can access Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station through Gate Number 1 and Gate Number 2 of the Namo Bharat Station via the new FOB.
Passengers are requested to use the alternative entry and cooperate with the railway administration. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure smooth passenger movement.
