Barasat TMC candidate suffers head injury after road mishap
Trinamul candidate Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar narrowly escaped an accident on her way to the Trinamul office in Badu Road, Madhyamgram.
Eyeing a win in the upcoming panchayat elections in the district, state leaders of the Trinamul Congress on Thursday called upon leaders here to give in their best for the “final game in 2019,” the parliamentary elections.
“Leaders and people of India are waiting to be led by Mamata Banerjee,” said Trinamul Leader Subrata Bakshi during a political convention organized by the party in Bolla village here on Thursday.
The event marked the first political convention of the TMC in South Dinajpur prior to the panchayat polls. However, a group of leaders, including Zilla Parishad member Subhasis Paul, were not present in the meeting.

“According to our records, we have distributed 30,000 cards among our leaders and members. However, it is estimated that only 15,000 of them have attended the meet,” a district level leader said.
The state president of the TMC, Subrata Bakshi said, “We belong to the same family and we will work for Mamata Banerjee and her party. Our leaders will be meeting with the people and will be interacting with them. Nobody needs to follow any local leader.”
“Follow only Mamata Banerjee and prepare for 2019. Mamata Banerjee will be our next Prime Minister. By winning all the seats in the panchayat elections, we will be securing a win in the 2019 elections,” Mr Bakshi added.
The district president of the party, Bipllab Mitra said, “We are a big family and we all are working for our family. Our guardian is Mamata Banerjee. We have to win in each of the 1167 booth in the upcoming panchayat election.”
