Reacting to the Calcutta High Court order to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the Narada sting footage case, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that her government will challenge the order in the Supreme Court.

"Will challenge before the Supreme Court against Calcutta HC order directing preliminary inquiry by the CBI on Narada sting operation," the chief minister said.

Mamata defended her ministers and said that the BJP is behind the sting operation.

"Everyone knows this that the sting was published from the BJP office," she said.

"I will not comment on this. We'll approach higher judiciary," she added.

The Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered the CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the Narada sting footage case, in which prominent TMC leaders were involved.
