Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Friday slammed the Delhi government after a brief spell of rain left several parts of the city waterlogged.

Taking potshots at the saffron party, AAP said if this is how Delhi is to be run, the party should sell off its ‘four engines’ as scrap and buy four boats instead so that, at least, Delhiites could navigate the mess left behind by the BJP.

Highlighting the Delhi government’s failure, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated, “Look at the condition of Sanjay Lake after the rains—the surrounding areas for several kilometres have turned into a lake. Ever since BJP came to power, the number of lakes in Delhi has increased.”

Former chief minister Atishi also shared videos of Patparganj in East Delhi showing heavy waterlogging, saying, “Look at the state of Patparganj. Just a few minutes of rain, and the streets and lanes of Delhi are turning into rivers. In just six months, BJP’s four-engine government has drowned Delhi. Is this CM Rekha Gupta’s so-called ‘proper management’?”

She further posted videos of flooding in Laxmi Nagar, AIIMS, Geeta Colony, and Sanjay Lake, holding the BJP government squarely responsible for the chaos.
