Haryana Government has decided to change the name of village ‘Pindari’ in district Jind to ‘Pandu Pindara’.

An official spokesman said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a proposal in this regard. He said that the gram panchayat of Pindari had requested that the name of the village is famous as ‘Pandu Pindara’.

In scriptures, including Mahabharata, as well as the Indian Railway administration and some other government documents, the village is known as Pandu Pindara, but in the revenue records, the name of the village is registered as Pindari, the spokesman said.

He said that therefore, the villagers had requested that with a view to maintain the dignity of tirath ‘Pandu Pindara’ as well as village and also to get rid of this confusion, the name of village ‘Pindari’ should be changed to ‘Pandu Pindara’.
