Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has termed his recent visit to Thailand a success. The CM concluded his three-day visit to Thailand on Thursday.

He pointed that more than 300 investors, which was more than the expected number, took part in the meeting related to investment in food processing while 102 travel agencies took part in the road show and meetings aimed at exploring the possibilities of investment in the tourism sector in Uttarakhand.

Trivendra Rawat said in the main investment related discussion forum more than 1,100 business delegates from industrial sector also took part. People of Thailand showed keen interest in the Himalayan state.

He said, “Top globally renowned companies, food processing sector major CP group and Minor Group of companies in hotel segment, showed deep interest in investing in Uttarakhand. Many famous names associated with the tourism sector also took the initiative.”

He said the participants at the Thailand conclave were amazed by the beauty of Uttarakhand. A film on tourism attractions of Uttarakhand was screened during the investment meet.

Uttarakhand is keen on attracting tourists from Thailand. Uttarakhand annually attracts three crore visitors, while Thailand gets over 4 lakh tourists.

Despite having a small population of about 7 crore, Thailand has established itself as a major tourist destination in the world.

The Chief Minister said an investor meet will soon be hosted here in which industrialists and investors from Thailand will be invited.

The Uttarakhand government is aiming to bring investments in food processing, tourism, industry, ayush, ayurveda, yoga and other related sectors through such meets.
