Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat with Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani on Wednesday.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat interacted with businessmen in Mumbai on Wednesday and also held a road show to promote the upcoming ‘Destination Uttarakhand-Investors Summit.’

The CM interacted with Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani. The business tycoon discussed the possibilities of investment in the hill state and took special interest in digital Uttarakhand, organic farming and hospitality.

Rawat said, “There is deep relationship between Mumbai and Uttarakhand. While Mumbai is economic capital, Uttarakhand can be called the spiritual capital. Both states portray an unmatched example of economics and spirituality.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ‘Destination Uttarakhand- Investors Summit’ in Dehradun in the first week of October. The Uttarakhand CM and his team are in Mumbai interacting with businessmen and explaining the vast investment opportunities in the hill state.

Uttarakhand is paying special focus on establishing contact with filmmakers to make the state a popular destination for film shooting. As the state government recently waived film shooting charges, many production houses are coming here to shoot films and TV serials.

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh said, “There are diverse opportunities for industrial growth in Uttarakhand where basic infrastructural facilities and investor-friendly policies are in place. There is a solid policy for ease of doing business besides several opportunities for start-ups and new entrepreneurs in this new state. We are eager to make Uttarakhand a prominent destination of investment and excited to work with the business community of Maharashtra.”

The Uttarakhand government is also making plans to develop a film city. The government team met the top brass of CII (Maharshtra), Blue Star Limited, Tata Motors Limited, Avada Group, Vertive Energy, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Limited, Mahindra Group, RPG Enterprises, Hinduja group, Ashok Leyland Limited, etc.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, expressed his willingness to support digital Uttarakhand, by expanding mobile and Internet connectivity in every region of Uttarakhand through Jio. He proposed to connect state schools and health centres with Internet and expressed willingness to support in storage and cold storage facilities of organic products.
