Two persons have been arrested for stabbing a teenager to death and injuring two of his family members over a scuffle, police said on Wednesday.

Danish, 20, and Mohan Singh, 23, residents of Lal Kaun at Prahald Pur, were arrested from their hideout in south Delhi, police said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night when police was informed about a quarrel at the Lal Kuan market in which three persons received stab injuries after they were attacked by a group of ten goons.

“Police reached the spot and took all three persons – Ramji Lal, 60, his son, Tara Chand, 30 and Tara Chand’s nephew Rahul, 16 to the Batra hospital where Rahul was declared dead, while Lal and Chand are undergoing treatment,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal.

According to their family members, a group of goons came near their residence and started misbehaving a woman member of her family. The three went to look into the matter and objected, but the accused attacked them with knives and even opened fire at them.

The accused managed to flee from the spot when police was informed, the family member added.

“We have registered a case and a manhunt is on to nab the other accused,” Biswal added.
