On the occasion of Republic Day on Friday, the Railways took a trip down memory lane. Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain took a ride on a train hauled by the iconic Fairy Queen steam locomotive from New Delhi railway station to Delhi junction station.
Railway Board chairman Ashwani Lohani, Railway Board members, Northern Railway general manager Vishwesh Chaube, DRM of Northern Railway RN Singh and other officials were present. Lohani also inaugurated a Rail Yatri Guide kiosk at New Delhi railway station.
Delhi Division has developed the touch screen kiosk as a single point enquiry station for answering all queries of passengers including guidance/navigation for accessing various facilities/amenities at the station.
