The Trinamul Congress-led government has deprived the minority community in West Bengal, BJP leader Mukul Roy said today.
Addressing a gathering at Kachchi More in Metiabruz, he said people of the minority communities are becoming poorer only because they are being used as a tool to strengthen vote bank of the TMC.
“People wanted to see a change in Left Front regime. But what they actually got? They got a worst government,” he said.
“The government must prepare a suitable infrastructure for providing education to the minority community, so that youths from this community get jobs or can set up their own business establishments,” he said.
The BJP leader said Miss Banerjee should follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi on how to develop the minority community people without appeasing them for vote bank politics.
“The state government must follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central government, which created huge job opportunities for the people of the minority communities. Prime Minister Modi is also creating suitable environment so that the youth from the minority community can continue their higher education. But in West Bengal, minority community people are being deprived randomly,” he said.
The former union railway minister also earlier trained his guns at Miss Mamata Banerjee accusing her of playing “minority politics” in the state by “stopping Durga Puja and Laxmi Puja”, even as he accused his former party TMC of having turned itself into a “private limited company” under the stewardship of ‘didi’ and her nephew Abhishek.
Triple Talaq crusader Najia Ilahi Khan and actor and BJP leader Jay Banerjee also participated in the rally.
Banerjee hitting out at TMC leader and state minister for urban development and municipal affairs Firhad Hakim’s remark that Mukul Roy was a ‘sideline player’ said, “Mr Hakim must know that Mr Roy contributed a lot to expand the TMC in West Bengal. It is because of him that Mr Hakim and others became state ministers.”
“Since Roy left the party because he felt the TMC sans any ideology, he is now being called a ‘traitor.’ Novice TMC leaders are criticizing Mr Roy by saying that he has no popularity among the masses. This is the political culture of TMC,” Mr Banerjee said.
