A war of words broke out between Left Front chairman Biman Bose and Trinamul Congress’s Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal, after the former had taken out a “harmony rally,” a day before Ram Navami at Rampurhat on Saturday. Instead of criticising each other’s political ideology, both the leaders trained their guns on the reported physical infirmity of their political opponent.

“According to his own leader, Mondol’s head sometimes runs short of oxygen,” Bose said. “Then, he has no control over his actions,” he added.

Mondal was quick to respond and said,”he (Bose) is like a father figure to me and at his age, he should walk to control his blood sugar and retain normal eye-sight. I won’t comment on his comments about me because of his advanced age, when people speak in an irrational manner,” Mondal said. Thousands of people participated in the Harmony Mega Rally organised by Rampurhat Left Front in Rampurhat town in Birbhum on Saturday.

“This is fight for job and food. The country is passing through a very tough time when some forces have been trying to divide people with other people. This country belongs to people of all religions,” Mr Biman Bose said while taking part in the Mega Harmony Rally.
