Wife of retired IAS officer Vinay Ranjan found dead in Hyderabad quarters; Police suspect foul play, probe on

Sunanda, a 55-year-old woman and wife of retired IAS officer Vinay Ranjan, was found dead on Wednesday inside the IAS Officers’ Quarters in Hyderabad. The incident took place at the residential complex located in Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar.

Police from the Jubilee Hills station said they received information about the incident in the early hours of Wednesday. Soon after getting the alert, officers rushed to the spot and secured the area.

Senior officials, including Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, also reached the location to supervise the investigation.

The body was recovered from IAS residential quarters, and area was immediately sealed for examination. Authorities have started collecting evidence and speaking to people connected to the residence to understand what happened inside the house.

Police officials have said that the case is being treated with seriousness and a detailed inquiry is underway. They added that more information will be shared only after initial findings are confirmed.

Police launch investigation as senior officers reach spot

After reaching the scene, police teams began a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Sunanda’s death. Forensic teams were also expected to assist in collecting physical evidence from the house.

According to officials, the first response teams arrived shortly after the information was received in the early hours.

Senior officers, including the city police commissioner, visited the spot to review the situation and guide the investigation process. Police have not ruled out any possibilities at this stage.

Suspicion raised over domestic help; case registered

Meanwhile, Congress MLA Danam Nagender made a statement suggesting that police suspect the involvement of the family’s domestic help in the incident. He said the worker, reportedly from Nepal, is being looked at as a possible suspect in the case.

Nagender added that a formal case has already been registered and that strict action will be taken against those found responsible after investigation. He also confirmed that Sunanda was the wife of retired IAS officer Vinay Ranjan and that the matter is being handled by the police.
