I-League: Churchill Brothers end 2023-24 season on winning note

Here is some great news for football lovers in north Bengal. The Sukna Games and Sports Association (SGSA) is all set to organise the 13th Sukna Gold Cup Football Tournament-2018 at the Sukna High School Ground near Siliguri from January 29 to February 18.
The SGSA general secretary, Suren Pradhan, who announced this at a press meet here on Thursday, said a total of 20 teams-six from Siliguri, three each from Darjeeling and Kalimpong, two from Jalpaiguri and one each from Sikkim, Nepal, Kolkata, Lucknow, Shillong and Kurseongwill take part in the tournament, which is scheduled to be inaugurated by the chairman of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) board of administrators, Binoy Tamang, and former international footballer and coach from neighbouring Bhutan, Khare Basnet, at 1.30 pm on 29 January.
Besides attractive trophies, the winner, runners-up, third and fourth teams of the meet would be awarded Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1 lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively, Mr Pradhan added.
