Puja club shows the way for unity in diversity with vote for Ma
In a tribute to unity in diversity, India’s unique identity, the club brought together women from the neighbourhood, representing the various religions.
They wanted to shoot a realistic anti-suicide video, but ended up paying with their lives. Two college students, while shooting a video against suicide on rail track, were run over by a train in the northern suburbs of Kolkata on Monday.
Soishob Dolui (20) and Sunil Tanti (19) of Sodepur in North 24 Parganas district were student of Kolkata’s Surendranath and Bangabasi College.
“They were acting. I was recording the video. I was at a spot just beside the tracks. We were shooting for some time. When trains came earlier we moved away. But this time, we could not realise,” Shounadip Santra, another first year student, was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying.

“From the video of Santra, it is clear that the three were so engrossed in shooting that they could not hear the oncoming train’s whistle,” rail police superintendent at Sealdah, Ashesh Biswas said.
As per reports, Dolui was playing the role of a student who wanted to commit suicide for failing the examination and Tanti was playing the role of a friend who convinces him not to take the extreme step.
Santra told the police that they wanted to shoot the video on the tracks to make it look realistic.
While Dolui’s father Shanti works as a security guard, Tanti’s father works as a welder mechanic.
