Stray dogs maul 7-year-old boy to death in Himachal

A seven-year-old boy was mauled to death by stray dogs on Saturday in Paonta Sahib area of Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, around 200 km from Shimla.

Police said the incident took place in the morning at Amarkot village of Paonta Sahib, when the boy was going towards fields where his parents were working.

“Suddenly 7-8 stray dogs attacked the minor boy and by the time, other children raised alarm and the villagers rushed to his rescue, he was badly mauled,” Police said.

The victim identified as Vicky was rushed to hospital for treatment, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

“His face, neck and upper torso was mauled by the stray dogs and it resulted in his death,” Police said.

The victim’s parents used to work as farm hands and they were the natives of Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.
