A day before the monsoon session of Parliament begins on Monday, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has convened an all-party meeting on Sunday to seek the cooperation of all political parties in the smooth functioning of the House.

The session, which will be on till 11  August,  will see voting for the Presidential election on the opening day after which the Opposition would be raising a wide variety of issues. The initial focus is likely to be on the ongoing confrontation along the Sino-Indian border as also the prevailing situation in Kashmir and the terrorist attack on pilgrims undertaking the Amarnath Yatra.

Another  issue which is expected to take centre-stage during the session would be the serious crisis in the agriculture sector where there has been increasing suicides by farmers.
