Sonia, Rahul, Manmohan to be star campaigners of Cong in HP

Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi along with former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with former Union ministers would campaign in Himachal Pradesh to woo voters ahead of ensuing assembly polls.

Besides Sonia, Rahul and Singh, former Union ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ambika Soni will seek votes for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

HP chief minister Virbhdra Singh, Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh, former CMs Harish Rawat, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, state Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s name also figures in the list of 40 leaders who will campaign in the state.

Among others who featured in the star campaigners list of Congress include
Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, Sachin Pilot, Randeep Surjewala, Raj Babbar, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Sunil Jakhar, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Manpreet Singh Badal.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had already held a public meeting in Mandi town on 7 October where he had announced Virbhadra Singh as CM face in HP and said he would become the CM for the seventh time.
