Armed forces showcase stealth strike capability

Indian Army

In a powerful display of India’s multi-domain combat readiness, the Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps led a high-intensity joint training exercise with the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force at the strategically significant Farrakka Barrage in Murshidabad, West Bengal, on 7–8 August.

The highlight was the helocasting phase, where Special Forces from the Army and Navy executed precision low-level water insertion from an IAF Mi-17 V5 helicopter into the barrage waters. This stealth technique—where troops deploy from a hovering helicopter into water to swim or use boats to reach targets—is designed for rapid, undetected penetration of hostile zones and securing critical assets.

The exercise, aimed at refining waterborne infiltration skills and safeguarding strategic installations, also strengthened tri-services integration. The flawless coordination and speed of execution underscored the armed forces’ unwavering preparedness to respond to any threat—by land, sea, or air.

“This exercise reaffirms our capability to strike swiftly, silently, and decisively against any adversary,” a senior military official asserted.
