Shimla: Three-day police custody for ‘rapist’ Colonel

Indian Army Colonel, who was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping his junior officer’s daughter, was sent into police custody for three days.

The army officer was produced before a local court here which has remanded him into police custody till 25 November.

The Colonel was arrested for allegedly raping the daughter of his junior, posted in Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Shimla.

In her complaint that was filed on Monday evening, the 21-year-old girl had alleged that she was sexually assaulted by the accused on 20 November

The victim was keen on pursuing a career in modeling and the accused had allegedly asked her to come to his place to discuss the issue.”The Colonel had allegedly offered to arrange a meeting of the victim with a reputed choreographer at his house. But when she turned up at his residence, the accused allegedly offered her drinks after which he raped her,” police sources said.

The duo had reportedly met on the sidelines of a function few days back after which the Army officer had offered his help in her modeling career.

Shimla Police had registered a case on Monday and after carrying out investigations in the case, the accused Army officer was arrested on Wednesday.

The victim has been sent for medical examination and her medical reports are still awaited.
