The Delhi Government has extended an ex-gratia assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the wife of the deceased, Kuldeep Nailwal, who in a tragic incident had lost his life after slipping into the Yamuna river last month in the Karawal Nagar assembly constituency in North East Delhi.

Delhi’s Minister of Law and Justice Kapil Mishra handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to Deepa Nailwal, wife of the deceased, as an ex gratia assistance by the state government.

It may be recalled that on 4 October 2025, Kuldeep Nailwal unfortunately passed away after slipping and falling into the Yamuna River near Sonia Vihar.

While handing over the cheque at the Delhi Secretariat, Mishra also expressed deep condolences to the family and stated that the government stands firmly with them in this difficult time.

He assured the family that they would not face any kind of shortage in support, while the government and local administration will be in touch with them.

Mishra also assured that arrangements would soon be made for employment for the deceased’s wife, adding that he would personally take responsibility for Nainwal’s daughter’s education.

He further assured that, if required in the future, additional support and assistance would also be provided to help the family overcome this challenging situation.

The victim’s wife has expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, and Mishra, stating that the financial assistance would provide crucial economic and emotional support to her family in the difficult times.
