Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh on Friday said that respect, justice, and peace are behind India’s stability.
Speaking at the 26th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World, underway at City Montessori School, Kanpur Road Branch here this evening, Rajnath Singh advocated a new United Nation( UN). “Today’s new world needs a new United Nations. Not a new institution. We need to strengthen and build upon the same institution in a new way,” he said.
“Where there is respect, there will be peace. Where there is peace, prosperity and justice will automatically follow,” he added.
At the event, Singh met astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and inquired about his health. He patted him on the back.
Chief Justices from 52 countries, former vice-presidents, former prime ministers, speakers of Parliament, and jurists are attending the conference.
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the conference. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh joined the program in the evening. He offered floral tribute at the statue of the CMS founder late Jagdish Gandhi and also read out the conference’s declaration.
CM Yogi had said, “The lack of dialogue with each other is the real problem facing the world. This conference will become a medium for dialogue. The declaration made 80 years ago at the founding of the UN still holds relevance today. Today, we need to focus not only on those old issues but also on today’s pressing issues, including cybersecurity, environmental protection, and global terrorism.”
