The Delhi BJP on Tuesday staged a play titled “Rashtravaad ke Aadipurush” based on the life and philosophy of Jana Sangh founder and former Union Minister Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, at Kamani Auditorium in the national capital.
BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with several other leaders and party workers, attended the event.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Nadda praised the party’s Delhi unit for creatively presenting Dr Mookerjee’s ideology through the theatrical production.
“The play Rashtravaad ke Aadipurush marks a unique beginning. Dr Mookerjee’s nationalist thoughts will now reach every citizen of Delhi,” the Delhi Chief Minister said.
She further stated that whether it is Dr Mookerjee’s nationalist ideology or his supreme sacrifice for the integration of Kashmir into India, his life would continue to inspire generations of Indians.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, who conceptualized the theatrical production, said the aim of the play was to depict Dr Mookerjee’s life, his vision of nationalism, education, and political journey.
He also highlighted that a team of 75 individuals, including 58 artists from the National School of Drama and Shriram Kala Kendra, played a vital role in bringing the production to life.
Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, Delhi government ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Ashish Sood, MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Bansuri Swaraj, and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
