BJP MLAs marshalled out of Delhi Assembly for raising DJB scam
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri alleged that the BJP MLAs were denied permission to discuss the DJB issue.
The Revolutionary Socialist Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and student organization Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parisad condemned the Kushmandi gang rape with rallies and street plays in Balurghat on Thursday.
They demanded immediate arrest of the criminals and concrete police and administrative action. Political leaders of different parties also condemned the heinous act and have criticized the police’s inaction in arresting the accused.
A mentally-challenged tribal woman was raped and brutally assaulted at Kushmandi in South Dinajpur last Saturday. The RSP organized a rally in Blaurghat as well as in every block of the district, highlighting the crime.

BJP district leaders too organized street plays in front of the Balurghat police station on Wednesday. The student organization, ABVP, also marched in a rally in Kushmandi, it is learnt.
“From the first day, police are trying to create a good impression in front of the Chief Minister. They are trying to complete the investigations as soon as possible.
We have doubts in the process of the arrests made. They are trying to hide something. I have talked to the state leaders and we will continue our movement,” the district president of BJP, Suvendu Sarkar, said.
Balurghat MLA and leader of the RSP, Biswanath Chodhury, said the incident was heinous and pathetic. “We protest the activity of the police and the administration.
They should act more actively and crimes like these should be stopped immediately,” he said.
