BSF, Punjab Police recover packet of suspected heroin in Tarn Taran
One packet of suspected heroin has been recovered in a joint operation carried out by BSF (Border Security Force) troops and Punjab Police in Tarn Taran district.
The Crime Control Unit of the Punjab Police gunned down gangster Harjinder Singh, alias Vicky Gounder, and his aide Prema Lahoria in an encounter on Friday evening at a village on the Punjab-Rajasthan border.
Inspector General, Bathinda zone, Mukhwinder Singh Chhina confirmed to the media the news of Gounder and Lahoria being killed. As per reports, the gangsters’ unidentified aide was injured in the operation.
Gounder has been giving a tough time to the Punjab Police ever since he, along with five others, including two terrorists, escaped from the Nabha high-security Jail in November 2016. The police were desperately looking for him ever since. He reportedly had masterminded the jailbreak with the help of his aides inside and outside the jail. He was the only one among the six escapees to have evaded arrest.

Vicky Gounder shot into the limelight after he was named the prime accused in the murder of gangster Sukha Kahlwan. As per reports, Gounder was wanted in at least 15 cases of murder, kidnapping and robbery.
