At least 100 youth staged a protest inside the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station here on Saturday against the Delhi Metro’s fare hike.

The fare hike had come into effect on October 10 2017, which was the second hike in the year, triggering protests from multiple quarters.

Around 11.45 a.m. on Saturday, the group of youth came in a Metro from Dwarka side of Blue Line and got down at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station.

The group raised slogans against the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), demanding the hike be revoked.

The group then climbed a staircase, still raising slogans, to another platform from where they boarded a Metro back to Dwarka side.

The entire protest lasted just over five minutes and other commuters and security personnel were taken by surprise.

“By the time we could respond, they escaped,” a security personnel at the station told IANS.
