PNB opens centralised loan processing centre for Haryana

Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Friday opened its first centralised loan processing centre (CLPC) of Haryana at Bank Square, Sector 17-B, Chandigarh.

Inaugurated by CEO and MD (PNB) Sunil Mehta, the CLPC is in line with enhanced access and service excellence (EASE) initiative of Union government under responsible and responsive banking.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehta said that under the comprehensive transformation exercise ‘PARIVARTAN’ vision of the bank, the model and framework for CLPC has been conceptualised at PNB.

He said as per the EASE programme, the emphasis has been laid on strict segregation of pre and post sanction roles and responsibilities for enhanced accountability.

Mehta further said that the CLPC will work as an independent support and work outlet comprising of credit processing cell and credit monitoring cell with the prime responsibility of pre-sanction appraisal, sanction and effective post-sanction follow-up or monitoring of loan accounts above Rs 50 lakh.

CLPC will receive the leads from the branch offices linked with it and with CLPC Chandigarh all PNB branches of Chandigarh and Panchkula will be linked. Mehta also visited Institute for Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh and give away dresses to the students of Blind School under CSR activity of the Bank.

While addressing the school children, he assured them of all possible help from PNB for their education as well as other possible requirements.
