Himachal minister approaches speaker invoking anti-defection law against 3 MLAs
The three MLAs' petition is pending in the high court against the Speaker for not approving their resignation from the State Legislative Assembly.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, while addressing a meeting at Dada-Siba in Kangra district on Sunday, said the popularity graph of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is declining rapidly due to ‘incorrect’ policy decisions which had adversely affected all sections of the society.
Himachal CM said he respects PM Modi as an individual but he shouldn’t try to divide the country.
“Today, the Prime Minister is facing stiff opposition in Gujarat itself and his popularity graph is declining fast,” he said, adding the Goods and Services Tax (GST) issue has also confused the business community in particular.

Virbhadra said even former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha has blamed Modi government for derailing the economy and added that Sinha has also blamed the Modi government for be-fooling the youth in the name of employment.
“The much advocated demonetisation scheme was a disastrous step as the move to curb the black money was taken in haste without taking people into confidence,” he said.
He exhorted the people to vote in favour of the Congress in the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
“Unlike the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress party believes in uniting and not dividing the people on the basis of caste, region and religion,” he said.
