Patanjali donates furniture to primary schools in Haridwar

In a goodwill gesture, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali provided furniture to seven government primary schools in Haridwar on Friday.

The primary schools were operating without proper furniture and students were forced to sit on the floor.

Even the Uttarakhand High Court took strong note of the poor condition of primary schools in the hill state, and passed a judgment, in Nainital on 30 June 2017, asking the Uttarakhand government to provide furniture to all primary schools.

Patanjali Yogpeeth has provided furniture to government primary schools located at Bheri, Badedi Rajputan, Piran Kalyar 2, Daulatpur, Santarshah, Dandari Khawajikipur and Beedpur in Roorkee (district Haridwar).

This move will benefit over 900 students enrolled in the schools. Patanjali Yogpeeth’s general secretary Acharya Balkrishna said, “Though Patanjali conducts a lot of social service, we are overjoyed at providing support to the government primary schools.”

Joint Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal had approached the Patanjali Yogipeet for helping the government schools located in Roorkee.

Khandelwal said, “Patanjali Yogpeeth has set an example for other corporate houses to contribute in infrastructure development of government schools. We are optimistic that Patanjali will provide similar help to other schools.”
