Clearly, the government wanted to ensure that the message of its keenness to establish a medical college in Kalahandi district goes across to the people in view of the scheduled visit of BJP president Amit Shah here on 4 April.

The BJP leader Pradip Kumar Naik described all of it as a ‘tamasha’ to befool people.

The foundation stone for the proposed medical college at Bhangabari of Bhawanipatna was laid on 16 November 2016 by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who had announced that Vedanta will provide Rs 100 crores for the construction of the medical college, hospital and other infrastructure.

The chief minister had also declared that the construction will start in a month’s time – December 2016.

Till date nothing has been done and now the CM wants to hoodwink people by organsing a MoU ceremony and televising it live to Kalahandi, Naik charged.
