Ola becomes 1st to launch ride-hailing operations at Ayodhya Airport
Ride-hailing company Ola on Monday launched cab operations at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya.
A young woman, who works at a call centre in Noida, was allegedly raped by the friend of the driver of an Ola cab that she had hired on Thursday night.
According to media reports, when the cab booked by the 25-year-old woman from her office arrived, she saw that another man was also sitting inside. After the driver assured the woman that he would drop the man a few metres ahead, the woman boarded the cab.

She reportedly told the police that the driver’s name was Ashok and his friend was called Praveen, adding that the latter did not get off the cab.
They allegedly took her to a forest area in Greater Noida. According to the police, they allegedly forced her to have a soft drink, which could have been laced with drugs.
After taking the cab to a deserted area, Ashok allegedly stopped the car and forced the woman to alight and with leave along with the man.
She was then allegedly raped by Praveen. The police have registered a complaint.
Both the accused have been arrested by police.
Talking about the incident, Ola said that the cab was not booked from their platform.
“We regret the unfortunate incident. However, we will like to clarify that the ride was not booked on our platform,” said Ola Spokesperson.
