‘Mu Hero, Mu Odisha’ campaign’

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched ‘Mu Hero, Mu Odisha’ campaign at a glittering function at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack in what is billed as an effort to make the youth dream big and turn achievers.

Expectedly, the Opposition Congress and BJP saw red and dubbed it as ruling BJD’s attempt to woo the youth before elections.

The Mu Hero, Mu Odisha campaign has been taken up under the Biju Yuva Vahini programme of the government to recognise and felicitate local heroes ot the change agents in the age group of 15 to 35. The district level committees will select and heroes will be felicitated at district and state level conclaves.

A cultural programme, felicitation of some of the young stars and a gathering of Biju Yuva Vahini members marked the ceremony.

As part of the campaign six vans will cover all 314 bocks and urban local bodies of the state within the period of four months.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in his brief address to the youth said, “Each one of you has a Gopabandhu, Madhu babu, Biju babu, Dharmapada in you…..everyone has a great potential that needs to be identified, harnessed and recognised”.

The silent worker is the real heroes and reach achievers. You people are the real inspiration for the society and the real change agents he said. The programme is to encourage and reward such silent workers who contribute to the society, he added.

Sports Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera, retired IPS officer Arup Patnaik, secretary sports Mr Vishal Deb were among others who spoke on the ocassion. A host of MLA’s were present on the dias.
