The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is taking special measures to ensure the safety of employees, citizens, animals, and birds against the adverse effects of the heat.

The civic body said on Wednesday that specific steps are being undertaken in the light of the continuously intensifying heatwave in Delhi.

The MCD has made arrangements for drinking water and ORS solutions for its sanitation workers at Sanitary Inspector offices and designated roll-call sites to prevent dehydration.

Additionally, it has provided caps to its field staff and deployed two vehicles in each zone equipped with drinking water and ORS supplies.

Beyond protecting its employees and citizens, the MCD has implemented measures to safeguard animals and birds from the heatwave. It has arranged for water in earthen pots for animals at designated dog-feeding sites and similar water arrangements have been made for animals and birds within public parks.

The MCD is fully committed to the health and well-being of all its field staff and is dedicated to protecting those working on the sanitation of Delhi from the heat.

The availability of ORS and drinking water will provide significant relief to employees while they perform their duties in the field.
