Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satyendar Jain were discharged on Tuesday following treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in New Delhi.

The two leaders belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had been admitted after they fell unwell following days of hunger strike during the sit-in protest inside the office of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.

Sisodia announced his recovery on Twitter before getting discharged.

“With doctor’s care and your blessings, I am recovering fast,” he tweeted.

“Yesterday (Monday), my ketone level was 7.4 and BP reached 184/100, which was leading to renal failure. But now everything is under control. If doctors allow I’ll try to be back to work today only,” he added.

On Monday, AAP MLA from Greater Kailash Saurabh Bharadwaj had informed about Sisodia’s health.

“Manish Sisodia’s ketone level reaches 7.4. Yesterday it was 6.4. Ideally it should be zero. 2+ level is considered to be danger zone. Team of doctors reaching LG house to see him,” he had said.

Sisodia was on an indefinite hunger strike since 13 June, a day after Jain began his hunger strike. Jain was taken to the same hospital for treatment after his health deteriorated late on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is still on a sit-in protest at the Baijal’s office along with Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai, took to Twitter, saying: “Eight days of wait to meet the Lt. Governor. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister shifted to hospital due to bad health.”

“The Lt. Governor could not find eight minutes in eight days for the people of Delhi. Hope he finds some time today,” he added.
