Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya on Wednesday and called for a solution to the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid dispute through dialogue.

“We will try to resolve the issue of Ram Mandir through dialogue,” the UP chief minister said.

Earlier in the day, he visited the Hanuman Garhi temple and offered prayers. This is the first time that a Uttar Pradesh chief minister has visited Ayodhya since 2002.

Adityanath’s visit comes a day after a CBI special court in Lucknow ordered framing of criminal conspiracy charges against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veterans LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Union Minister Uma Bharti, along with nine others in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case.
