A joint team of Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad(ATS) and Gujarat Police arrested Qadeer Ahmad, who was booked under the now-defunct TADA in connection with the Mumbai serial bomb blasts (1993), from Kalhedi village of Nazibabad area in Bijnor district on Saturday morning.

Qadeer is said to have helped Tiger Memon in the supply of arms and ammunition to Jamnagar in Gujarat, which were used in the Mumbai blasts later. Qadeer would be presented in a Bijnor court to get his transit remand and then taken to Gujarat.

A team of UP ATS led by inspector Vishwajit Kumar traced Qadeer’s location before he was arrested by the joint team on Saturday. Qadeer is being interrogated to know about his contacts and aides.
