A 21-year-old man was tied to a tree and brutally beaten up allegedly by the family members of a girl with whom he had eloped two months back in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district, police said on Friday.

Police arrested six persons on Friday in connection with the matter after the video of the incident went viral on social media.

"21-year old Hemant had eloped with the girl two months back. After a police complaint, they returned and the man started working in Jodhpur. He recently came in contact with the girl again and when her family members came to know about it, they called him to Rajsamand," police said.
